Join us for an afternoon  with dance and song in our Street Cafe with large round tables, white cloths and a seemingly endless supply of tea and coffee complete with cakes and biscuits.  We are delighted to showcase the Tendring Rotary Young Musician of 2013 winner guitarist Ben Townsend who will be joining the strings section of the orchetsra for his own individual take on Pachelbel’s Canon.  Tickets, which include refreshments cost £9.00 and are available from the Theatre box office 01255 686633 or www.tendringdc.gov.uk

-FUTURE PERFORMANCES-

AUGUST – We hope to spring up with small ensembles at the Clacton Air Show Community Fayre which will be held on Christmas Tree Island (McDonald’s) on Thursday 22nd August 2013

SEPTEMBER – We will also be present at a concert being held in tribute to Michael Hurren which will be held at St James Church, Clacton on Sea on Saturday 14th September at 7pm

NOVEMBER – We proudly present our charity fundraising Remembrance Sunday concert.  There will be opportunities to wave flags, take out the hankies and sing along to the choruses.  A feast of much loved music and a little extra.  Flautist Julie Harmer steps out into the spotlight and demonstrates her considerable skill and charm with a solo item played with the orchestra.  We are also delighted to say that this year local songbird Tessa Collitt will join with the orchestra to lead the choruses and to provide some of her own individual magical singing  Proceeds from the concert will go to local Forces charities including the Tendring branch of SSAFA and Clacton on Sea branch of RAFA.  Tickets from the theatre box office 01255 433344, cost £7.00, concessions are £6.00.Sunday 10th November 2013 3pm, West Cliff Theatre, Clacton on Sea.

Clacton Concert Orchestra have devised the perfect antidote for the grey days following Christmas!  Come to our Viennese Café New Year Concert in its truly informal setting on Sunday 29th January in the Princes Theatre, Clacton on Sea at 3:00pm.  Coffee and tea  are being served with cakes on the tables, help yourselves, walk around, talk to your friends, dance when your feet lead you, most of all enjoy the music, old and new favourites from Vienna, and individual items that will entertain and amuse.  More about that in our New Year update!  Proceeds from the concert will go to the Support Group of  St Helena Hospice Tendring Day Care Centre.  Last year we raised £500 for this very worthy cause and with your help we hope to donate at least that amount this coming year at the Viennese Café concert.

Tickets are available, priced £8.00, which includes refreshments, from the Theatre Box Office tel: 01255 686633  Family tickets are available priced £15.00.  Last year’s concert was sold out at an early stage, we suggest advanced booking is advisable.

In September we start on our programme for the Annual  Remembrance Sunday Concert to be held at the West Cliff Theatre, Clacton on Sea on Sunday 13th November 2011 at 3pm.   Tickets will be available from the Theatre box office telephone 01255 433344, or if you would like to know more please contact Brenda Ellis on 01255 223455.  This concert, hosted by the ever Young Brothers,  is always a well attended, popular community event with flags and hankies to the fore, all this whilst raising money for local Forces Charities. We are delighted to be joined once again this year by the Cavender Singers, who will close the 1st half of the programme and open the second half of the programme.  Additionally this very talented small group of  Singers will be at hand to help the audience give voice to Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory.
